Trust

Of his 1981 album Trust, Costello writes:

This was easily the most drug-influenced record of my career... It was completed close to a self-induced nervous collapse on a diet of rough 'scrumpy' cider, gin and tonic, various powders... and, in the final hours, Seconal and Johnnie Walker Black Label.

Interesting stuff. With such a run of incredible albums in the late 70s and early 80s, it's almost difficult for me to say anything intelligent about his work. It speaks for itself: "Thinkin' of grand larceny, smokin' the everlasting cigarette of chastity".
