Meat Puppets

While Up on the Sun (1985) isn't nearly as good as Meat Puppets II (1984), the opening line is growing on me: 'A long time ago, I turned to myself and said, "You, you are my daughter"'.

The beginning of 'Animal Kingdom' sounds like the beginning of Adam & the Ants' 'Dog Eat Dog'. 'Up in my head there's an animal kingdom I am the king of the animals there', cf. Talking Heads' 'There's a party in my mind and I hope it never stops', 'There's a city in my mind', I think there's one more... Oh yes, 'Here in my mind the weather never changes'.
